...that's just because it's a "feature" of the particular video technology (e.g. in Real Media or Windows Media streams you can embed code to open a browser window)...
And QuickTime, too. There are QT movies that will send you to a web page at the end of the film. It seems to me the trailer for Spiderman 2 did this.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a loss leader nor would I be surprised if different retailers had different costs associated with the products they sell. The local gas station, Wal-mart, and Costco typically don't pay the same price for the products they sell and I don't see why the online retail game would be any different.
Lethal
Very trust. Often times gas stations from playes like Wal-mart, costco and grocery stories run at a loss. The gas station does not generated any profit for the store in gas sells but does tend to bring more people to the store making up the difference and then some.
From working in a grocery store gas station I worked at I can tell you where we got gas from was from the big name gas companies like Exxon, Phillips 66, and Chevron. Chevron being the most common receipt I saw. Also can tell you that at most the only difference between brands is additives added at the terminals were they fill up the full trucks. The gas could of originally been made by any refinery and put in the pipe line. They do not normally get out the same product they put into it and that is from my knowledge from the oil industry and family working in it.

Interesting point. I'm sure the Department of Justice would love to know about any contact between Labels and Amazon in the past few months.
If Amazon wanted to sell their content, why would they not have contact to come to an arrangement? Why is this improper?
It's based on demand. If it's still popular its more expensive - no matter how old it is.
That is what I thought, however the 1st post was written to imply that most older content was at the 0.99 price point. This is just not what I've been seeing. If its popular, no matter the time in the iTunes store, its 1.29, aside from any limited time promotional deals.

Surgery isn't a magic wand.
Some transgender people "pass" better than others. It's not just transgender people who have their gender challenged either, it happens plenty to anyone that appears gender ambiguous.
Bullies latch onto any and all perceived insecurity and take advantage of it, in this case it had profoundly unpleasant consequences.
Why are you trying to turn the assault into bullying / an LGBT hate crime? I know MacRumors PRSI is obsessed with the issue, but there's no evidence for it.

I am not a gamer but still will not buy an MBA with an i series chip if it means I have to suffer Intel's woefully weak integrated graphics processor. I bought an early 13 inch Ultimate in October and plan to keep it for at least three years. It handles everything I throw at it easily so until and unless it won't do that anymore I don't plan to replace it.

I believe that it isn't suggesting anything at all. When you go to list the devices that your application is compatible with, that is likely just an exposed extra field for if you wanted to include another device that is capable. It is in my opinion, nothing but a little bug. (Though emulating iOS apps om my Mac would be cool :P)

Why would you need 64 bit for a MBA? To fly off those huge sample libraries that the processor would lock up over?
64 bit is only for massive memory allocations and a MBA doesn't even have the CPU to pull it off...
At this point I think it's mainly a matter of keeping the platform unified. Why support two kernals longer than you have to? The sooner Apple makes 64-bit the default, the sooner they can dump the 32-bit kernal altogether.

A number of convenient features catered to writers and typists will also be wrapped into Pages 3, including a thesaurus and integration with Spotlight, Wikipedia, and Google. Apple is also said to be looking to build a robust grammar checking engine for Pages that could find its way into other Apple and Cocoa applications.
I'm going to a MFA writing program in the fall; would love to see how this turns out. I use Word exclusively but can't shake the feeling that there's a better way to do things.

This is actually an incorrect report that Microsoft has tried to correct, but it keeps getting reported.
http://blogs.zdnet.com/Bott/?p=157
I know we jump all over MS for spreading FUD... We shouldn't do the same.
Microsoft's "correction" is discussed further in the "update" on the article you linked:
http://blogs.zdnet.com/Bott/?p=159
The bottom line is that Vista Home Basic/Premium are not licensed for use in a VM. Ulitmate and Business editions are OK.

I think the Amazon mp3's are of a lower bit rate though. I have a few and that was the case. Perhaps that has changed.
I stil prefer to own CD's and import them. Generally I can find the CD for less than the full album on-line. But I do by from itunes or amazon when I only want one song from an artist.

When your sales numbers for phones are ~50% of that of your competitor; whereas a few years ago they were barely a blip, then yes that means they are getting kicked in the teeth in handset OS sales.
Apple sells its OS ? Google sells its OS?
Funny, last I heard, Apple sells phones, and the iPhone is out-selling every other phone model on the market. Apple even sells more phones than Google  In-fact, Google's phone hardware effort was an Epic Fail by any measure. Funny how people can't grasp the "market" that Apple competes in - hardware. With a greater market cap that exceeds Microsoft or Google, I don't think Apple is too worried.

The problem with situations like this is that it's not the ones which go right (ie the victim gets saved by employees) which dictate the policy, it's the ones which go bad and end up in a lawsuit or something similarly bad for the company which do.

DRM is a evil necessity - and one that isn't going to go away - we must live with
I would be able to use more than one music store... and from my point of view - is a great benefit. If one music store doesn't have the music I want to buy - maybe another does?
( And please, don't tell me to burn -> rip - its slow and unconvenient )
I am by no means saying DRM is not necessary. This is what some people hate though. I understand it is necessary and have no problem with it. I personally choose to buy and rip. Mainly because of quality.
DRM is great. I am just giving another side of the argument.

Boot Camp is not virtualization, by any definition. (And no, there's no way Microsoft or anyone else could argue that it is.)
What if Microsoft claims that the Mac firmware (which is software on a chip) is EFI and Apple is emulating BIOS and thus Windows is running in an emulated environment.
Don't underestimate the power of the Darkside!
edit: Unless with Vista the Mac can use the native EFI, uhm... Maybe the Darkside is not all that :)

Are we sure this isn't what the iP6 may look like? It seems like there should have been more rumors about it if it was going to be the 5.
