Yeah except Photoshop is for people like me so it is relevant.
Missed half the post, eh?
So buy a capacitive stylus already ... Insofar as a few people do need a stylus for limited applications, third parties make them. Buy one if you need it

I'm asking about trackpads that were on laptops.
If you need something to compare to, look at the magic trackpad on the Apple site.

Dang, Federighi has large shoes to fill. His Lion demo was so-so. Serlet has been on the Mac OS X team since day one if I remember right, and has always seemed to understand where it needed to go next.
I wonder if the departure has anything to do with Mac OS X transitioning away from a traditional desktop OS towards a more touch-centric, "no-fuss" one. Would be interested in Serlet's opinion on this.

This is what the big dogs use. And there is good reason for it. If you cut with more than one person on a project you can't beat a unity or an ISIS.
Final cut is fine. But it's no AVID. So when people say Final Cut is the industry standard on here they aren't talking about the Film & Television industry.
Final cut made a big jump for a couple years because of producers trying to cut cost in post but you get what you pay for.

I think this is my favourite desktop ever (some of yours are okay though;))- tried showing it to people IRL but nobody's interested in neat desktops :( (not looking for any response btw- just have to get this out there- love the subject, the composition of the pic and the harmony) Yep, be a while before this pales: one of the best desktops of all time :D

Like OMG, I had the craziest thought! What if MacRumors had more articles about...Mac Rumors?! Whoa whoa wee wow, that would be so cool.
*Face Palm.
Boring stuff.
Huh? You dont find the head of software engineering to be leaving the company to be relevent? Since the current OS has roots in NeXT its safe to say that this guy played a huge role in the most important part of the Mac.
I find this a lot more or at least equaly relevent to the Mac world as the Itoys

Just looking for your thoughts and ideas on advertising/promoting/marketing a website. I am looking for the most effective ways to promote at a low price. This can be online or offline? What are your favorite online ways? offline ways?

It'd be more appropriate to say he's letting the book do the talking for him.
Either way, linking some overused passage lends absolutely nothing to this discussion or any like it. So what's the point of reviving the thread with it? All it does is show that this person can't speak for himself (or herself).

1) Never work with a friend of a friend.
2) Never work for free.
3) Never work for a start up business UNLESS it has a larger group behind it (Public/private equity group, blue chip client with a new business, etc.. is ok).
4) Never do work for a religious organisation (seriously not a good idea). Or for that matter a union...
5) If you lie with dogs you'll get fleas. Never work on a project you wouldn't want other clients seeing as a client of yours on your Portfolio.
6) Never work with a company where they can't speak your native language... Cheque time comes and "miso soli me no undastandy".
7) Be choosy about who you want to work with. Talented designers will always find work while talentless designers wont.
[8] I found in experience if you price yourself a certain way you tend to loose the "bottom feeding clients" as I like to call them. It also means the people who take up the service generally understand the price positioning thus have an idea of intrinsic value assigned to it.

They need to improve the worthless notification system in iOS more than the maps.
never been an issue for me. id rather have better maps stuff, since i use that near daily.

I love these threads, there are always little apps coming out and this is a great way to hear about them. I just installed Bytecontroller, it's exactly what I've been looking for in a menubar iTunes controller - simple.
Does anyone know of a freeware app to monitor connections to your wireless network? My friend has something like this for Windows, not sure if there is something similar for mac (I'm a little paranoid).
I don't know a thing about it, but iTattle (http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/internet_utilities/itattle.html) sounds like it might work for you. It's free. :)
